For over 11 yrs, Shawna Bass has created art through photography, digital art, mixed media pieces and fluid art (acrylic and resin). As an interdisciplinary, abstract artist, she enjoys the freedom to express her art in a less concrete manner, but still bring the sought after emotion and energy to each piece. Shawna’s artwork has been shown in multiple exhibitions in the US and Internationally to include Denver, Miami, Grenada, WI and Basel, Switzerland. Her pieces focus mainly on her cultural experiences, along with spiritual and emotional connections with self. She is the owner of Art Bar Grenada which includes a contemporary art gallery, ABG Gallery, focusing on emerging Caribbean artist.
Shawna was born in Virginia, but currently resides in Grenada, W.I. with her family. Relocating to Grenada and deciding to make it her home has been a journey of sacrifice, but also one of peace, gratefulness and joy. Living in Grenada has been instrumental in providing inspiration for her art pieces.
